The Incubator is a not-for-profit project by Hands On Art that provides senior students and young artists the chance to gain experience in exhibiting their artwork in a public art space.
Students from Brisbane and the Moreton Bay Region are invited to submit their work for display in our annual exhibition which celebrates the talented young creatives in our community. Prizes are awarded to those artists whose work shows skill, creativity and conceptual depth. Works accepted for submission can include any medium including sculpture, photography and video. Every entrant will have their work exhibited online with a select few being chosen to exhibit their work in our finalists exhibition at Hands On Art in Paddington, QLD. The main prize awarded by The Incubator is a residency at Hands On Art in their artists’ studio. The selected artist will have access to studio and exhibition space and will be able to work alongside and be mentored by experienced artists. This is a great opportunity for a young artist wishing to gain experience in the art industry. The winning artist will also get the chance to exhibit what they make during their residency in the Hands On Art gallery space. Two runner-ups will receive prizes which will consist of art materials. There is also a People's Choice Award in which you can vote for your favourite artwork in the exhibition. Please click on the page at the top to go to the voting form. Prizes will be announced on the site and on our social media pages. Dates for these announcements will be confirmed shortly. The online exhibition will run from 28th July 2021. Artists work from last year can also be found on the site. We thank all artists who have submitted work to the exhibition this year and to all their art teachers, tutors and parents for their support in fostering the creativity of these young creatives. We also thank Hands On Art for their continuing support of the project. |
